About Us…

Emily Anderson

Hi I’m Emily, Professional Organizer and Co-founder of Emily’s Edit and Professional Home Organizing Services. I am a wife and mother of two awesome, busy kids and one very energetic Yorkie! What brought me here? I love to organize, yes- but what truly drives me to do this work, is the sense of peace we bring to our clients. As a self-proclaimed “homebody,” I truly believe your home should be a place of peace- a refuge for you and your family. I absolutely love helping my clients achieve this.  With schooling in both Social Work and Design, I will help guide you through the process with empathy, support and vision.  Let’s get started!

I’ve always had a passion for helping others, especially when it comes to bringing peace back into your home. Whether looking for a new home or helping you find the reason you loved your home again. We strive to not only transform your space back into a functional, less cluttered space, but to educate and give you the tools to keep it that way. I look forward to meeting you!

After 15 years of raising kids and accumulating stuff, I finally realized I needed some outside help. Emily’s gentle guidance and swift work helped me feel like I made progress in our space in a short amount of time.

By breaking projects down into little chunks, Emily helped me feel less overwhelmed with my messy house. After each work session, Emily would give me a small but manageable project to do on my own. For example, while organizing our storage space, rather than having me go through ALL the holiday stuff to purge unused items, she had me just focus on Halloween items. This felt more manageable to me, and when I completed this task, I felt energized to tackle more.

My son’s bedroom was overflowing with books- early readers, chapter books, series, etc. In one short session, Emily was able to organize the books so they were easier to find, and even looked nicer on the shelves. Choosing a book at bedtime is less time consuming now!

The best vacation our family ever took was the one where we gave Emily free-reign in our basement. We came home to the most inviting clear space we ever could’ve imagined! Our storage room went from a complete disaster, to organized, tidy and feeling spacious. It was so inspiring I wanted to tackle the rest of the house.

It’s obvious Emily puts thought and care into her work. I think because she is a Mom, she is in tune with the needs of a family to have easy-to-manage organizational systems that everyone, including young children, can follow.

Emily’s ability to visualize a re-organized space is impressive. She has a great eye for color, and lots of good ideas for consolidating items around my house.

So often sorting and organizing items feels overwhelming to me. I get discouraged and distracted too easily, but working alongside Emily made me stay focused and keep a positive attitude.

I love the feeling of pulling my car into a garage that is tidy and organized! I had no idea how much getting that space together would affect my whole attitude about my home!

Emily encouraged us to use vertical storage space. This is something we never really took advantage of before and it is making a huge difference in our ability to stay organized.

Emily is not only good at organizing, she actually loves it. It was fun to watch her excitement at watching a space transform.
